Daylies HQ is a flurry of activity as moves to bring about the downfall of the hated Grandhomme proceed with Falange efficiency. A sinister deal was struck over the Christmas recess between Jean Raymundo, boss of the Knights of St.Colombo, Charlie Helou, Falange Chief and Jean Elie which have sealed Grandhomme's fate.
Grandhomme, whose post as Crown Prince has long been coveted by the ambitious Elie, is now to be sacrificed in favour of Elie, in return for Elie's silence on matters concerning the funding of Daylies of the past seven years.
They are moving save in the knowledge that their biggest foe, Camille Rodde, is too busy eliminating all enemies of Mendicant on one hand, while at the same time, entering into complicated maneuvers designed to engineer the elevation of his own stooge, John McViccar.
GANGSTER
McViccar, the reformed bank robber, whose film has now amassed over a million pounds for the Mendicant Fighting Fund, has also long lusted for the General Secretaryship, and his major opponent has been Grandhomme. Grandhomme's gang, the Family, notably Pierre Tomas and Madame Pompadour, have totally alienated all popular feeling from the ranks of the National Progressive Front, despite the secret understanding with Pierre Clotman, whose mysterious death in Leeds late last year has been attributed to Mendicant operatives.
HATE CAMPAIGN
Consequently, the Falange feels the time is ripe to launch a vicious hate campaign against Grandhomme as a prelude to his elimination. The whisper campaign is already out, to the effect that:
1. Grandhomme owes his frequent holidays in the United States to certain friends at the Embassy of the USA in the Labor Department
2. Grandhomme's lifestyle would reflect an income somewhat in excess of his declared salary.
3. His erstwhile friendship with the woman secretary of the CSD negotiating team would merit close attention.
While the Falange is careful to avoid direct association with this farrago of smears, key moles in the National Progressive Front have been primed to push this line, so that when the bullet comes, Grandhomme, together with his cohorts, will stand alone against the wrath of the Falange.
